Why is football so popular?

And thats just it?? Why is it so popular? You have a bunch of guys who Rape, cheat, ault, break the law and have no moral sense of care to understand kids see them as role models. They play a game in which you can go for up to 2 hours without a score. They play act on the field and cheat the ref. They play the same games week in week out with the same teams year in year out. I just do not get the point of football one bit?? Someone please explain the appeal?
