What do you do when your 13 yr old son starts pushing his boundaries, being moody and disrespectful?

Give him space, he is becoming a man, and your trying to smother him. I know it hurts but he will love and respect you more if you understand where he is coming from more than your need your ideal of respect. Have you respected his decision on how he wants to spend his free time....No you haven't you want respect but you don't give it. I have a 16 year old daughter and I don't force her to do things her grades are good, she never gets into trouble and I think a lot of that has to do with my understanding that she is becoming a woman, not a grown child. Its time you let your little boy become a man.
