How much rationing was going on in America during WW2?

Rationing was widespread throughout the country encomping many resources. Oil, rubber, sugar, grains, etc. You name it. Civilians during World War II, in order to buy groceries, had to provide a buying coupon along with the needed amount of money for an item in order to purchase it.
